Easter travel – you know what to expect…

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

There are some things in life that are so predictable – Easter travel has got to be one of them. The usual exodus to get away makes the roads and airports hell – we all know it’s going to happen and many of us get suckered in. Those that don’t watch the same news reports every year about the misery of others. If it’s so predictable then you can make plans around it to recognise and minimise the impact. Can’t help but thinking there is some parallel with business, any ideas?

Did the budget pass you by?

Did the budget pass you by? I remember a time when everything would stop and there would be in depth analysis of the budget and its implications on individuals, families and businesses. Did you take much notice of the budget and how it will affect you or did it just pass you by?

I’m too scared to ask, ha ha!!

However I do endeavour to keep in touch with customers, and to know not only their business, but over time to know them as people also.

I do think this enriches the relationship and it makes interractions that much smoother and more enjoyable for all as a result.

In touch with your customers?

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

How often do you ask your customers whether there is any way in which you can improve how you support them? Once a year, every other month, never? Do you speak to your customers every week – do you know about them personally? The better you get to know them the better placed you are to deliver high quality service and recognise when there might be issues which need addressing. If you make that extra effort it will repay you many times over - from knowing their favourite food to their family commitments. People respond to personal interest – it will make your business stronger, it’s certainly done that for mine.
