Dear Reader

Welcome to this festive addition of the asklilach newsletter - we send you warm wishes for Christmas and Hanukkah. Many thanks to everyone who has sent in top tips for this newsletter - we'll be featuring them over time, keep them coming in. In this edition we're looking at useful tips and hints to get you through the festive season.

Quick Overview

Top tips

Christmas cards

If you haven't got your corporate Christmas cards sorted then you'll need to start thinking about them soon. Printed cards take a bit of organising but there is still time. Have a look at Charity Christmas Cards. There are also many more options for sending charity cards.

If time is tight, or you just prefer to send your festive wishes by email, then email cards are a great alternative. See Send and Give or Blue Mountain for more details. Many of the charities provide this facility too.

Recycle your Christmas cards

After Christmas you can support the Woodland Trust's efforts to help the environment by recycling any cards you receive. You can recycle your cards by taking them to any mainland WH Smith, Tesco, TK Maxx and Marks & Spencer stores. See Woodland Trust.org.uk for more details.

Personalised gifts

If you want to be different then have a look at sending personalised wine as a gift. You can include your logo on the label to make your gift stand out that little bit more. Have a look at Euro Marque Wines for more information.

Charity giving

There are more and more opportunities to give to charities instead of buying chocolates or wine. The range of gifts varies - you can buy a goat for £25, via Oxfam, to help fight poverty. Click here for more information about corporate giving in support of Oxfam. Cancer Research UK also has an alternative gift catalogue so you can help support the fight against cancer. Gifts include making a donation to help support a cancer patient through a clinical trial. For further information, see Send and Give. A range of charity e cards are also available from the site.

Guest top tip: Tom Evans, Psycademy, www.psycademy.co.uk

The next time you launch a new product or finish a project, here's a really good way to improve next time. Don't spend any time talking about what went wrong. List all the things that went right. Then spend some time thinking about what you can do to make these good things even better. Then go out and celebrate.

and finally...

Don't forget, if you are closing down your office over Christmas and New Year make sure clients and potential clients know. It's useful to start thinking now about putting plans in place for office and telephone cover.

LilachHope you enjoy the festive break and look forward to being back in touch in 2008.

All the best,

Lilach
