Many thanks to everyone who sent in submissions for a catchy phrase to describe our
call minding service. Some of you asked if the deadline could be extended. So, for a chance to win a bottle of bubbly (or chocolates if you'd prefer) send in your entry by 20th October. We're looking for punchy phrase to help explain the value of call minding - of having your calls answered by a person, in your company name, when you are unavailable, with the facility to pick up messages by text or email (from anywhere in the world that has an internet connection).

Getting the most out of Word |
You can save yourself quite a bit of time by using the templates available on this website. If you click on the templates tab then it gives you a whole range of templates you can use - agendas, brochures, invitations, invoices, minutes, reports etc. |
 |
Outlook’s content management system |
The latest version of Outlook includes a content management system so that you can track all your information related to specific clients. It helps you to monitor email correspondence, business accounts and appointments. It’s a useful tool to help ensure you have all the relevant information at your finger tips. |

Negotiating rates with venues |
Approaching venues about hiring rooms for events can be time consuming and a hassle. If you are planning regular events then that gives you more bargaining power on rates. The manager, rather than the venue co-ordinator, has all the power and authority in terms of offering discounts so it’s best to save yourself some time and talk to them direct. A venue finding company can also be useful in negotiating deals and they won’t charge you a search fee - they get a cut from the venue. Don’t just rely on a venue search company though – you need to do your own research too to ensure get the best results. |

Guest top tip:
Debbie Leven, Profile Matters, www.profilematters.co.uk |
If you want to raise your profile in the press and media then look at www.expertsources.co.uk. It’s a database that journalists use to source experts for comment and interview. Placing your profile on the site costs about £50 for the year. |
